Postcards from the Maldives💌🌴 - The Walk in Wardrobe

Postcards from the Maldives💌🌴

Think I can introduce this post by simply saying that The Maldives needs no introduction.🌴☀️
Anyone who has ever picked up a travel magazine, searched online for a holiday destination or scrolled through Instagram will have been wowed by those well-known images of sapphire waters, white sand and the wooden stilted water villas which are so dreamy!😍
The Maldives has definitely always been on my bucket list, so it was the obvious destination to celebrate our honeymoon, the perfect opportunity to sit I the sun and do absolutely nothing for two weeks.🤩
We initially had reservations about going to the Maldives as Gerard and I aren’t very good at just sitting still and doing nothing, we love exploring holiday destinations on long walks🚶‍♀️ and bike rides 🚲, but after a whirlwind year with planning our wedding and opening the new WIW store all in the same year, we were both in need of some serious downtime and so we went with it and oh how glad we are that we did.
This tropical archipelago literally blew my mind away💥, it is the place dreams are made off, complete paradise!😍
The only tough part of the holiday was picking which hotel to go to, they are all fabulous. And I mean that. Honestly I don’t know how anyone makes this decision.
We decided to stay at the Finolhu resort in Baa Atoll.
Lindsay Lohan was our next door neighbour at the hotel, surreal.
There was a gorgeous restaurant in the resort called The Fish and Crab Shack, which offers the ultimate laid-back dining experience in the most beautiful location on Finolhu’s 1km sandbank, we had our on beach lunch here everyday it was just that good.🦀
There was so much more to do than we anticipated, we took part in snorkelling 🐠 and water aerobics where I think we did more laughing than anything else!
It is honestly the most chilled place on earth, the batteries were well and truly recharged. When can we go back?
Maldives… you are simply breath taking, photos don’t do you justice.😍
I will certainly look back at those sun-drenched days with great fondness whenever I need a little pick-me-up!  xx
